We are seeking a highly passionate, dynamic and engaging Nurse Unit Manager within a mental health inpatient facility.

As a department Nurse Unit Manager, you will provide operational direction of the ward by ensuring efficient and effective fiscal management and promote high quality clinical care for our patients. As the leader of this unit you will be a key part of the hospital’s management team and will provide support to the Director of Nursing and the General Manager

The new Victoria Clinic is currently a 115 patient-bed private psychiatric facility located on Malvern Road in Prahran. 

This architecturally designed, purpose-built mental health facility specialises in the provision of high quality inpatient mental health services.

As a Nurse Unit Manager – Mental Health your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management
  • Coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based
  • Ensuring the delivery of excellent patient and family centred care in a team focused environment
  • Providing guidance, mentoring and support to your team
  • Be accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources
  • Undertaking direct patient care, as required
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards


Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Registered Nurse with at least 5 years’ experience in inpatient mental health settings Knowledge of NSQHS/ACHS Standards
  • Understanding of HoNOS
  • Proven experience building and leading high performing teams with a service excellence approach
  • Demonstrated ability to foster positive working relations with a wide range of diverse stakeholders
  • Demonstrate a good knowledge base in labour management
  • Understand the requirements of private health funding
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care
  • High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
  • Ability to work cohesively within a team environment

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope - Victoria - Nurses' and Midwives' Agreement 2021-2025".
