Nurse Unit Manager - Orthopaedics

Are you energetic, patient focused and love working with people? Then this is the role for you! Holmesglen Private Hospital is seeking an Orthopaedic Nurse Unit Manager (NUM) to join our team. You will play a key role supporting our team to ensure our patients have a great experience during their care.

As a NUM your responsibilities will include:

• Providing clinical leadership to the IPU Dennis Ward to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of all patients.
• Providing clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of evidence-based nursing care.
• Accountability for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources.

About us:

Our Dennis Ward is a 30-bed unit, predominantly Orthopaedic, but also includes vascular, ENT (paediatric), and maxillofacial specialties.

Holmesglen Private Hospital offers an extensive range of healthcare services along with rewarding and exciting career opportunities.

The Hospital includes; 147 beds across 5 Wards providing Medical, Surgical and Rehabilitation Services, combined Intensive Care and Coronary Care Unit, Emergency Department, 7 Operating Suites, Catheter Laboratory, Day of Surgery Admission and Day Infusion/Oncology Services.

Essential Criteria

• Previous experience at NUM level or equivalent
• Proven experience leading a team
• Current Registration with AHPRA
• Working with Children check

• Compliance with ACSQHC National standards

   

• Ability to work cohesively within a team environment
• Proven time management and prioritisation skills
• Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management
• Demonstrated HR management experience
• Computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
