Our multidisciplinary team is seeking a motivated Occupational Therapist to join our Hospital allied health team on a full-time basis. Graduates are welcome to apply. This position will see you supporting in patient rehabilitation, working on the acute wards and out patient rehabilitation with the support of the Hospital team.

The Hospital includes; 147 beds across 5 Wards providing Medical, Surgical and Rehabilitation Services, combined Intensive Care and Coronary Care Unit, Emergency Department, 7 Operating Suites, Catheter Laboratory, Day of Surgery Admission and Day Infusion/Oncology Services.

As an Occupational Therapist your responsibilities will include:

  • You will plan, assess, implement and evaluate clinical care in collaboration with patients/families and the multidisciplinary team so as to achieve identified goals and health outcomes.
  • Contribute to the coordination of clinical care whilst working in partnership with the allied health team, nursing and non-clinical staff providing direct and indirect clinical input, direction and guidance
  • Incorporate the provision of education and support to patients and their carer/family for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation and discharge plans
  • Conduct individual and group therapy programs
  • Commit to an ongoing learning and professional development portfolio to ensure case mix requirements are supported and registration requirements are met.
  • Essential Criteria:
  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agenc
  • Previous rehab or acute experience highly advantageous 
  • Excellent time management, communication and organisation skill
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Flexibility in managing a varied caseload and implementing group and individual programs
