    NURSE UNIT MANAGER - Perioperative Floor Co-ordinator

    Permanent Full Time Role - 38 Hours Per Week

    Come and join our team at Hunter Valley Private Hospital. A unique opportunity exists for a highly motivated Registered Nurse with exceptional leadership and clinical skills to join our team.

    Position Responsibilities-

    The position is responsible for providing leadership and direction to the Perioperative Department to      complement the strategic direction, operational processes and business direction of the hospital/facility. ·

     

    You will provide operational direction for the department to ensure efficient and effective management of the area and coordinate the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based. In addition you will be   accountable for the effective management of human, financial and material resources and ensure customer service is maintained at optimal levels.

     

    You will undertake direct patient care as required providing guidance and support to less experienced members of the nursing team.

     

    Hunter Valley Private Hospital is located on the fringe of Newcastle, close to beaches and the Hunter Valley and is close to the Pacific Motorway, vineyards and university. The hospital is an 83 bed facility which offers a variety of surgical, medical and rehabilitation services.

    Selection Criteria:

               Registered Nurse with APHRA registration

               Tertiary qualification in management (or working towards)

               Minimum 4 years experience in the Perioperative Department

               Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

               Excellent verbal and written communication skills

               A commitment to a high standard of clinical and customer focused care

               High degree of computer literacy including MS office                                   

               Ability to work cohesively within a team environment

               Proven time management and prioritisation skills

               Demonstrate a sound knowledge base in labour management and rostering

     

     Desirable Criteria:

        Experience in a similar position
