John Fawkner Private Hospital are seeking an experienced and motivated Floor Coordinator to join our Perioperative Services team. This is an opportunity for an accomplished perioperative nurse leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is passionate about delivering safe, high-quality patient care.

As Floor Coordinator, you will provide operational leadership across the perioperative service, supporting the delivery of evidence-based care while ensuring efficient management of people, resources and daily clinical operations. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, you will play a key role in maintaining service excellence, driving quality improvement initiatives and fostering a positive team culture.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership role where you will:

·       Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the perioperative department

·       Lead and support nursing teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care

·       Manage staffing and resources to ensure efficient service delivery

·       Promote a culture of teamwork, accountability and continuous improvement

·       Support compliance with NSQHS Standards, accreditation requirements and workplace health and safety practices

·       Participate in quality improvement, risk management and patient safety initiatives

·       Contribute to staff development through coaching, mentoring and performance support

·       Build strong relationships with clinicians, patients, VMOs and other key stakeholders

About You

You are a confident clinical leader with strong operational and people management skills. You enjoy supporting teams to perform at their best and are committed to delivering outstanding patient outcomes.

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

·       Strong leadership and decision-making capability

·       Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills

·       Proven ability to coordinate clinical operations in a complex healthcare environment

·       A commitment to patient safety, quality improvement and evidence-based practice

·       Highly developed planning, prioritisation and organisational skills

·       Experience leading teams through change and improvement initiatives

·       A collaborative and customer-focused approach

Essential Requirements

·       Australian work rights

·       Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse

·       Bachelor of Nursing

·       Significant leadership or management experience within acute hospital environment

·       Experience managing staff, resources and operational performance

·       Strong understanding of National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards

Desirable

·       Postgraduate qualification in a relevant specialty area

·       Minimum five years' experience within Perioperative Services

·       Experience participating in accreditation activities

·       Knowledge of workforce planning, rostering and budgeting principles

·       Experience leading quality improvement and patient safety initiatives
