Part Time Occupational Therapist - Level 2-3

Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) provides opportunities for the local clinical and non-clinical workforce and ensures our patients' healthcare needs are met now and into the future. NBH is a fully licensed private hospital providing services to both public and private in and out patients by exceptional nurses, doctors, allied and support staff. 

Northern Beaches Hospital Mental Health Unit is looking to employ a part time Occupational Therapist (0.8 FTE). Ideally we seek a professional with an engaging interpersonal style and who is self-driven.  The position would suit a professional who is able to work competently and independently with diverse and complex cases within an inpatient mental health setting. 

Are you an experienced Occupational Therapist with a commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork and an interest in delivering excellent clinical services related to assessment, treatment, planning and evidence based practice? 

You will make an impact by:

• Providing occupational therapy intervention to a variety of patients in inpatient mental health settings including older persons, voluntary and involuntary mental health patients, adolescents, patients with substance dependence related issues.
• Providing comprehensive Occupational Therapy rehabilitation services to inpatients and outpatients of varied diagnostic groups.
• Maximising the occupational performance of patients, adopting a client-centred and goal directed approach
• Participating in multi-disciplinary team meetings and professional development programs. 

You will bring to our high performing team:

• Bachelor in Occupational Therapy or equivalent
• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency
• Highly developed assessment and treatment skills in acute inpatient settings
• Exceptional skills in carrying out functional assessments for older persons including cognitive screening.
• Knowledge of the requirements of ACAT
• Well-developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work autonomously and within a multidisciplinary team
• Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills to ensure high quality patient care and handover.
• Previous experience in the private healthcare sector and mental health will be well regarded.
• 2 years post graduate experience

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSW Health Professionals Support Services Agreement 2023, ranging from $46.83 - $61.88 per hour.
