Are you an enthusiastic and adaptable Clinical or General Psychologist ready to join our Allied Health Team in both inpatient and outpatient settings?
An exciting opportunity has arisen for innovative and dynamic Psychologist to join the team at The Hills Private Hospital. This role will deliver exceptional, evidence based psychological services to ensure excellent clinical outcomes and an industry leading experience.

About us:

The Hills Private Hospital is a 111-bed private hospital located in the Hills District of Sydney, consisting of 86 Rehab and 25 mental health beds. As part of The Hills Private Hospital, Windsor Road Private Clinic plays a central role in delivering specialised mental health care.

Windsor Road Private Clinic provides inpatient and day treatment programs for mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, PTSD, anger management, emotional disorders and medically assisted detoxification from alcohol and other substances, as well as in orthopaedics, neurological, cardiac and pulmonary rehabilitation.

Our Windsor Road Private Clinic multi-disciplinary team includes Psychiatrists, Psychologists, Physicians, Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Speech Therapists and Dieticians who all have a major input into the treatment and ongoing management of our patients.

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide an excellent standard of evidence based and person-centred psychological services for individuals and groups presenting with a range of psychiatric disorders (including by telephone and domiciliary visits as appropriate) by providing input into the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of therapeutic programs and by ensuring that they are current and congruent with patient needs. 

  • Demonstrates professional practice by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements, Healthscope’s polices and processes, required registration, scope of practice and patient confidentiality and privacy.

  • Fosters a learning environment by maintaining own professional learning and continuous professional development

  •  Providing group and individual supervision and teaching to students and less experienced psychologists and Allied Health Assistants (Grade 3 Psychologists only)

  • Act as a valued member of a multidisciplinary team to maximise the efficacy of clinical services by building professional relationships and providing consultancy to Psychiatrists, Registrars, Nurses, Outreach and other referral sources, and by participating in research, intake and triage duties, handover, and Multidisciplinary Clinical Reviews.

  • Prioritises Healthscope’s patient safety and quality frameworks by identifying areas of improvement, conducting clinical audits, initiating quality improvement projects, and when required participating in National Safety & Quality Healthcare Standards and risk committees/meetings.

  • Collaborate with external partners to ensure patients receive a high quality of care across the health care continuum.

  •  Maintains a professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes.

  • Demonstrate operational efficiency by engaging in value added delivery processes, performing duties efficiently and cost-effectively and sharing ideas and recommendations to improve service delivery.

 Essential Criteria:

 The successful candidate must have experience in providing individual therapy, facilitating psych educational groups for inpatients and day patients, and be expected to participate in group meetings and supervision/review sessions.

You will be expected to work effectively within a diverse multidisciplinary team and contribute to the development of innovative programs. Advanced qualifications and expertise in a particular therapeutic model are welcomed. Membership to APS College of Clinical Psychologists desired.

  • Relevant degree qualifications
  • Current full registration with AHPRA
  • Previous experience working on an inpatient mental health unit
  • Experience facilitating group therapy sessions essential
  • Sound clinical judgement and clinical reasoning skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Superior time management and organisational skills
  • Exceptional customer service skills
