The Opportunity

Peninsula Private Hospital (PPH) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Hospital Redevelopment and Operational Readiness Project Coordinator to join our team and oversee the redevelopment of our hospital facility. This critical role is responsible for overseeing to interface with the Building Contractors, head office and the General Manager.  The successful applicant reports to GM/DON, and work in collaboration with the PPH leadership team and the Healthscope Brownfield project team to ensure a safe, efficient, and operational readiness for Healthscope Brownfields redevelopment. 

The redevelopment and Operational Readiness Project Coordinator will play a vital role in

  • collaborating with cross-functional teams (clinical, engineering, IT, facilities) to identify and define operational requirements, 
  • monitoring & report on progress against ORP milestones and identify potential roadblocks, 
  • foster strong relationships with stakeholders across various departments and external partners.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess experience and a strong understanding of project management, patient safety risk management skills, and relevant legislation and regulations. You will also need to be able to work collaboratively and communicate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.

This is a unique opportunity to be part of a major redevelopment exciting phase for Peninsula Private Hospital. The Redevelopment Project Coordinator role is a key position in ensuring the successful completion of the project, and you will have the chance to make a real difference in the delivery of high-quality patient care.

This is a Full-time position of 76 hours per fortnight.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist GM/DON manage the overall project plan for the hospital rebuilding project interface with the hospital's daily operations.
  • Track and report project progress and identify and address potential risks, and issues regarding operational readiness.
  • Develop and implement communication plans to keep stakeholders informed about project progress.
  • Manage project and operational readiness documentation and ensure that all records are accurate and complete.
  • Work closely with the design team to ensure that the new hospital facility meets all functional and regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and implement operational readiness and commissioning plans for all new systems and equipment.
  • Manage the transition of hospital operations to the new facility.
  • Work closely with the GM/DON, PPH Leadership team, and the Healthscope Brownfield project team to develop and implement a relocation plan that minimises disruption to clinical operations and ensures the safety and well-being of patients and staff.
  • Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, including clinicians, nurses, and other support staff, to ensure that everyone is aware of the relocation plan and their role in the process.
  • Identify and manage any risks associated with the relocation process and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure that all relocation activities are conducted in accordance with relevant legislation and regulations.

About You

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in hospital operational management 
  • Proven ability to manage complex projects on time and within budget.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Patient safety risk management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multi-disciplinary team.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare construction is a plus Project management skills
  • Experience with the use of project management tools and techniques
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations
  • Registered Nurse, AHPRA
