Registered Nurse – Alcohol and Prescription Medication

·    Inpatient Unit - 44 beds

·    Full time & part time opportunities

·    $39.66/hr - $52.97/hr plus super

·    Rotating 7 day roster including evenings

About the role:

Are you a Registered Nurse specializing in Mental Health or Addictions, seeking a rewarding career?  Damascus Health Services is looking for qualified Registered Mental Health Nurse specialising in addiction disorders to join our established specialised inpatient unit on a full time basis or part time basis.

As the Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:

·       Work in partnership with the MDT, patients and families in decision-making regarding provision of care promoting beneficial relationships.

·       Deliver quality nursing care by Assessing, Planning, Implementing and evaluating individual treatment plans.

·       Participate in Safety Huddles and Complex Case Reviews.

·       Provide a standard of care according to the individual’s level of experience and education maintaining high quality nursing care within a safe environment.

·       Develop and utilize strategies that encourage an atmosphere conductive to effective communication.

·       Be proactive in your contribution to Quality Improvement, service development and patient safety initiatives in the clinic.

Damascus Health Services comprises of a 44 bed inpatient unit and dedicated day patient unit set within Brisbane Private Hospital, a 181 bed private hospital.

It is conveniently located at the top of the Wickham Terrace, Brisbane’s busiest medical precinct, in the heart of the CBD. Close to public transport with our own onsite end of trip bike facilities with nearby discounted staff parking available and a newly refurbished staff cafeteria including an outdoor dining area and access to chef prepared meals at discounted prices.

About you

To be successful in your application, you will need to meet the requirements below:

·       Current Registration with AHPRA

·       A demonstrated interest in the field of addictive behaviours, specialisation in the field, substantial experience, or postgraduate qualifications or Continual Professional Development

·       Demonstrate ability to deliver high quality patient care.

·       Highly developed interpersonal and communication skills.

·       Commitment to ongoing personal and professional development.

·       Exceptional time management and organisational skills.

·       Post graduate qualifications in mental health or addiction disorders (Desirable)
