About this role:
Ringwood Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse DSU who also has the flexibility to work across our Medical/ Surgical Ward, with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high-quality patient care to join our established nursing team.
This position sits within our Day Surgery Unit, with one part-time (0.4FTE) position available.
About us:
Since opening in 1973, Ringwood Private Hospital has grown into a 75 patient-bed hospital that offers complete cancer care including surgical, medical (chemotherapy and radiotherapy), pre and post cancer support services.
In conjunction with Radiation Oncology Victoria, our hospital provides the only private radiotherapy facilities in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne.
Our operating suites are equipped to perform major and minor procedures, in a diverse range of specialties.
The hospital has a purpose-built Day Surgery Unit, which is recognised by health professionals for its quality care.
Key responsibilities:
Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
Provide evidenced based nursing care
Ensure patient and staff safety
Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care
Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs
Essential Criteria:
Current Registration with AHPRA
Working with Children Check
Flexibility to work across our Medical Surgical Unit if needed
Commitment to Quality Patient Care
Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
Excellent communication and customer service skills
Works well independently and within a team
Basic computer skills
Minimum of 18 months experience as a Registered Nurse in a DSU

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and VICNMA/ANMF- VIC Nurse and Midwives' -Enterprise Agreement 2025, a salary ranging from $37.60 – 51.50 per hour.
