Darwin Private Hospital is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our Medical/Surgical and Rehab Ward.  We pride ourselves on quality care for our patients and their families. You will be provided with many learning opportunities across a diverse range of nursing skill sets.

You will strengthen health outcomes through the provision of safe quality, clinically appropriate nursing care in partnership with patients/clients, their families and other healthcare professionals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Utilising a structured approach, carry out comprehensive and accurate nursing assessments of patients

  • Implement planned evidence-based nursing interventions within your scope of practice

  • Demonstrate exceptional clinical skills and procedures and management of patients seeking outstanding care

  • Implement strategies to ensure quality and risk management are integrated into service provision

  • Maintain and adhere to Infection Control policies and practices

  • Complies with organizational policies, procedures and guideline

Darwin Private Hospital is the only provider of private hospital services in the Northern Territory. As part of the Healthscope Group of Hospitals, it is a licenced 122 bed hospital providing a broad range of multiday and day surgery including, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Plastic and Reconstructive, Urology, Gastroenterology and ENT and Cardiac Catheter Laboratory. Our world-class private hospital attracts patients from across the greater Northern Territory, Western Australia, remote aboriginal communities and even offshore. We are co-located with Royal Darwin Hospital and partner in delivering specialised care to patients from across the top end of Australia.

Essential Criteria

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse
  • Recent nursing experience on a medical/surgical or rehab ward
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and clinical problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated commitment to continued quality improvement and best practice principles
  • National Police Clearance
  • NT WWC 
  • Proof of Immunisation

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope Darwin Private Hospital Nurses and Midwives Enterprise Agreement 2024, a salary of $41.90 - $56.51 per hour.
