About the opportunity

Gold Coast Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in acute surgical nursing to join our General Surgery Ward on a part-time basis.

This role is best suited to a clinician who is confident managing post-operative surgical patients and thrives in a fast-paced acute care environment. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care as part of a collaborative and supportive multidisciplinary team.

Established in 2016, Gold Coast Private Hospital is a modern, 339-bed facility located in Southport’s Gold Coast Health and Knowledge Precinct.

With 22 operating theatres, the hospital supports a broad range of specialties including General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, Cardiac Care, Oncology and more. We are committed to clinical excellence and ongoing professional development.

As a Registered Nurse within our General Surgery Ward, you will:

  • Deliver safe, evidence-based care to post-operative and acute surgical patients
  • Work collaboratively within the multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal patient outcomes
  • Provide education and support throughout recovery and rehabilitation
  • Supervise and support junior staff
  • Contribute to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives

Essential Criteria

  • Authority to Work in Australia
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse in an acute surgical ward (essential)
  • Demonstrated experience caring for post-operative surgical patients
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Current unrestricted AHPRA registration
  • Knowledge of ACQSHC National Standards
  • Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care in an acute hospital setting

Please note: This role is not suitable for new graduates or candidates without recent acute surgical nursing experience.

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope - Queensland - Nurses Enterprise Agreement 2021 - 2025" (salaries range between $41.49 and $52.97 per hour + superannuation)
