Registered Nurse - Medical Oncology

Ringwood Private Hospital is seeking an experienced oncology trained Registered Nurse with excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering high quality care to patients and their families to join our established nursing team in our day oncology unit. 

This is a casual position.

The successful candidates will have sound clinical skills and an interest in cancer care and enjoy interacting positively with patients and their families.

As a Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:

  • Provide evidenced based nursing care including a comprehensive assessment of patients receiving chemotherapy/immunotherapy
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure patient and staff safety
  • Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs

Ringwood Breast Care is a specialised breast clinic at Ringwood Private Hospital that offers rapid access, state of the art, breast screening and diagnostic services for patients who experience symptoms or who are at high risk of developing breast cancer.

Essential Criteria:

  • Current Registration with AHPRA
  • Working with Children check
  • Specialty oncology nursing experience 
  • Experience administering cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or related cancer treatments
  • Competency in PICC, PORT, IV Cannulation and phlebotomy skills or working towards
  • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience and a strong background in patient care with emphasis on chemotherapy or immunotherapy management
  • ADAC qualification, CVAD management experience and high level computer literacy
  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care
  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills
  • Works well independently and within a team
  • Basic computer skills
