About the role
John Fawkner Private Hospital is currently seeking experienced Registered Nurses to join our close-knit medical ward team on a part time basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team to ensure we provide high levels of patient care.
About us
John Fawkner Private Hospital is located in the northwest suburbs of Melbourne. With 186 registered beds, an emergency department, 5 operating theatres, 12 bed Critical Care Complex and a busy day surgery/endoscopy unit the hospital provides a wide range of services to its community.
The hospital specialises in orthopaedics, general surgery, general medicine, oncology, cardiology, urology, plastic surgery, ENT and gynaecology.
Your responsibilities will include:
Support the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of excellent standard of evidence based, person centred patient care
Demonstrating professional practice as evidence by adhering to AHPRA professional standards, code of ethics and conduct, legislative requirements and Healthscope's policies and processes
Fostering a learning environment through clinical presentations to support the nursing team with their professional development and maintaining own professional learning and continuous professional development and providing supervision and teaching to peers, graduates and students
Acting as a valued member of the inter-disciplinary team to provide exceptional patient care by actively contributing to team processes and practices
Collaborating with external partners to ensure patients receive a high quality of care across the health care continuum
Maintaining professional and constructive working relationships with our VMO partners, using a customer service mindset, to enable high quality patient outcomes
Essential Criteria
Current AHPRA registration
Minimum of 3-5 years of experience
Understanding of the Australian National Commission in Quality and Safety Ten National Standards
Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and work within a team environment
Excellent communication skills

If you are successful, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant nursing experience against the current nursing Enterprise Agreement the "Healthscope Victoria - Nurses’ and Midwives’ Enterprise Agreement 2026" (salaries range between $39.34 to $51.50 per hour).
