Newcastle Private Hospital is seeking experienced Scrub Scouts to join our Perioperative team on a Full-time basis. Part-time hours may be considered for strong applicants.

The successful applicants will have at least 3 years’ experience in a perioperative setting, with exposure to Neurosurgery, Vascular, Cardio- thoracic, General, Urology, Gynae, or Robotics cases.

As a Perioperative Registered Nurse - Scrub Scout, your responsibilities may include:
· Deliver safe, researched-based standards of nursing care
· Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and Assistants in Nursing (AINs) to deliver patient care
· Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs
· Led successful quality improvement and safety management project/s to deliver desired outcomes
· Work collaboratively with the wider healthcare team to support patient care needs
· Act as a role model for Safe Practice
Essential Criteria:
· A minimum of 3 years’ RN experience in Scrub Scout / Perioperative Nursing
· Proven perioperative experience in one or more specialties: Neurosurgery, Vascular, Cardio- thoracic, General, Urology, Gynae, Robotics
· Current Authority to Work in Australia
· Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
· Current Registration (no restriction) with AHPRA
· Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
· Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care and continuous improvement
· Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
· Highly developed interpersonal skills, proactive, motivated and customer focused
· Hold a valid NSW Working with Children check for employment
Desirable Criteria
· Hold a Post Graduate Certificate in Perioperative Nursing (or working towards)

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2024, a salary ranging from $39.09 - $54.89 per hour.
