About this role:
Ringwood Private Hospital is currently looking for an experienced Scrub Scout Nurse to join our team of professionals in providing excellent patient care on a part-time basis.

With 2 operating theatres, Ringwood Private Hospital offers a range of specialties including, Medical Services, Endoscopy, Urology, Minor Maxilla Facial, Dental, Breast Surgery, Orthopaedics, Plastic Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), General Surgery and Oncology.
Key responsibilities:
Prepare and maintain the operating room for surgery, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are sterile and ready for use
Assist the surgical team by scrubbing in, passing instruments, and anticipating the needs of the surgeon
Monitor and manage the sterile field to ensure patient safety and prevent infection
Collaborate with the surgical team to provide optimal care during surgeries
Maintain accurate and timely documentation of procedures and patient information
Adhere to hospital policies, procedures, and safety protocols
Essential Criteria:
A minimum of 2 years experience as a RN Scrub Scout
Scrub scout experience in multiple specialties including urology, plastics general surgery, endoscopy and some minor orthopaedics
Current Registration with AHPRA
Working with Children Check
Commitment to Quality Patient care
Confident to liaise and support VMO’s
Excellent communication and teamwork skills
Strong knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures
Ability to work efficiently under pressure and adapt to changing situations
Commitment to maintaining a sterile and safe environment

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and VICNMA/ANMF- VIC Nurse and Midwives' -Enterprise Agreement 2025, a salary ranging from $37.60 – 51.50 per hour.
