Are you a passionate scrub nurse that is looking to enhance your Orthopaedic scrub nurse skills or perhaps a change to an Orthopaedic scrub nurse role? Want to progress your professional career pathway and specialise but haven’t had the opportunity too?

We are offering a 3 month supported program to transition or enhance your surgical scrub skills in the specialty of Orthopaedics.
 
This program will be tailored for the individual, moving at a pace where scrub/scout skills can be acquired and consolidated. You will be working alongside senior and experienced Orthopaedic scrub nurses with strong preceptorship skills who will provide support for your successful transition.
 
This program includes supernumery technical learning opportunities all guided by experienced nurses.
 
 
 
 As a Registered Nurse your responsibilities will include:
  • Deliver evidence based nursing care
  • Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
  • Ensure patient and staff safety
  • Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) to deliver patient care
  • Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health recovery, rehabilitation or end of life needs

Essential criteria
  • AHPRA Registration as a registered nurse
  • Experience in a perioperative environment- scrub/scout nurse role minimum 2years
  • Team player
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Adept and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates patient centred care
  • Adheres to the ACORN standards
  • Intermediate computer skills
 
 
 
 
Desirable criteria
  • Post graduate qualification in perioperative nursing (or working towards)
  • Previous experience in other roles in a perioperative environment
 
 
 
 
If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2015 – 2019, a salary ranging from $32.04 - $44.99 per hour.
