Northern Beaches Hospital (NBH) is a fully licensed private hospital facility. Providing care to both public and private in and out patients this outstanding facility offers a large range of quality services provided by exceptional nurses and midwives, doctors, allied and support staff. 


The Special Care Nursery is a level 4 capability facility delivering safe high quality care to infants born within Northern Beaches Hospital. It is a 12 bed unit caring for babies from 32 weeks that require a higher level of care. Beds consist of 4 high dependency cots, 6 low dependency cots & 2 isolation rooms.


NBH is seeking applications from experienced nurses to work within our Special Care Nursery. We have multiple opportunities available for full and part-time positions.

As a Registered Nurse in our Special Care Nursery, you will have a strong patient-service focus, demonstrated commitment to continued service improvement, and demonstrate problem-solving skills to improve patient care outcomes for premature and sick babies. This challenging and rewarding position will utilise your abilities and see you become a valued member of the team.

You will bring to our high-performing team:

  • Registered Nurse with AHPRA
  • Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
  • Post Graduate Certificate in neonatal nursing (or working towards)
  • Minimum 2 years experience with a Level 3 or above SCN
  • Sound clinical decision making and problem solving skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills
  • Clinical expertise and commitment to high quality patient care
  • Self-motivated and proven ability to work as part of a high functioning team
  • Passion for delivering quality patient-centred care
  • Flexibility with shift allocation timing

 If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2015 – 2019.
