The Role
Norwest Private Hospital is seeking an Orthopaedic Registrar (unaccredited) to work alongside several orthopaedic surgeons. You will gain exposure to various subspecialties, and be responsible for managing patients on the ward and assisting at orthopaedic operations.
As an Orthopaedic Registrar your responsibilities will include:
- Provision of surgical assistant skills in the operating theatre to support the Accredited Visiting Medical Officer (VMO)
- Review patients in the Emergency Department and Intensive Care Unit as required by and under the supervision of the Accredited VMO during business hours
- Review inpatients pre and post operatively at the request of the Accredited VMO during business hours
- Participate in Orthopaedic Department meetings
- Participate in clinical teaching opportunities
What you'll need to succeed
Essential qualities:
- Full AHPRA registration
- Excellent communication skills
- Minimum of 12 months experience in specialty
- Recent experience working in Australia
This role is a temporary 12-month appointment to start on 2 February 2026.
