The Sydney Clinic is a boutique private psychiatric facility, and we specialise in the provision of high-quality inpatient and outpatient mental health services. We are renowned for exemplary recovery focused, holistic, and person forward care in mental health concerns such as anxiety, depression, psychosis and personality vulnerabilities in addition to dependency disorders.

We are looking for a part-time permanent Social Worker with passion for excellence in customer service delivery to join our team, to work 8 hours a week, the days and times can be flexible according to the needs of the successful candidate and the service. 

As a Social Worker your responsibilities will include:

  • providing individual sessions for inpatients referred for social work services, which may include, NDIS/Centrelink applications, housing priorities and homelessness, medical certificates etc
  • being a key contributor to family meetings with the patient, Psychiatrist, and their family
  • Communicating and collaborating with other clinicians or stakeholders providing treatment to the individual

The position requires the person to work independently with the patients and as a multidisciplinary team member of mental health professionals; and to liaise closely with the treating Psychiatrist. The Social Worker is part of a multidisciplinary team, responsible for providing assessments and therapeutic interventions to consumers at The Sydney Clinic (TSC).

Selection Criteria:

  • Appropriate tertiary qualifications in Social Work
  • Eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Well-developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent organisation, time management and self-management skills
  • Highly developed communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work within and provide leadership within a multidisciplinary team
  • Commitment to ongoing education and the provision of evidence-based practice
