About the role

Gold Coast Private Hospital is currently looking for an experienced Ward Clerk on a full time basis to support our busy Bariatric ward, Monday to Friday.

With 22 operating theatres, Gold Coast Private Hospital offers a wide range of specialties including, but not limited to, 24/7 Emergency Care, Medical Services, Orthopaedics, Bariatrics, Neurosurgery, Plastic Surgery, ENT (Ear, Nose, and Throat), General Surgery, Obstetrics, Cardiac Care, and Oncology.

Your duties will include

·            Welcome and assist patients, visitors, and staff, ensuring a friendly and professional first impression.

·            Answer phone calls and handle inquiries with professionalism, empathy and confidentiality, directing them to the appropriate personnel as needed

·            Provide administrative support to the Nurse Unit Manager, including scheduling, correspondence, and coordination of meetings

·            Assist Visiting Medical Officers (VMOs) with administrative tasks, ensuring smooth operations and patient care.

·            Accurately record and maintain patient data, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with hospital policies.

·            Prepare and process all discharge paperwork, ensuring patients receive all necessary documentation promptly.

Essential Criteria:

·            Able to adjust to changing priorities and work environments with ease

·            Strong focus on accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.

·            Reliable and responsible, taking ownership of tasks and outcomes.

·            Capable of working independently and making informed decisions.

·            Skilled in managing multiple tasks simultaneously without compromising quality.

·            Able to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

·            Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

·            Strong organizational and time-management skills

·            Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

·            Knowledge of medical terminology and WebPAS is an advantage
