About the role:

Our multidisciplinary team is seeking motivated Allied Health Assistants to join our team on a permanent part-time basis to a near full-time hours (minimum 61 hours a fortnight). If you are looking for flexibility and extra hours or to increase your clinical skill, this will be right opportunity.

The Allied Health Assistant role is to provide support to therapists and deliver exceptional patient care under the directions of the treating therapists.

About us:

The Hills Private Hospital is a private hospital with 86 inpatient rehabilitation beds, 25 inpatient mental health beds, and expanding Day Programs, with a purpose-built hydrotherapy pool.

Our dedicated areas of care include rehabilitation and mental health. Our mental health unit contributes to the provision of a multidisciplinary service catering for the various stages of patient care from inpatient to day programs.

Our team of highly skilled healthcare professionals comprise of accredited private specialists, health professionals and nursing staff, all who endeavour to contribute to the provision of the highest standard of care to our patients.

From the moment a patient enters our hospital, they will be treated with respect and dignity whilst receiving the best possible care.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Support members of the Allied Health team to provide a high standard of clinical care to patients/families
  • Work under the direction and supervision of physiotherapists, occupational therapists, exercise physiologists and speech pathologists to help clients achieve their rehabilitation goals
  • Work inter-disciplinary with nursing and nursing admin teams as required
  • Equipment and resources management within the allied health department

Essential Criteria:

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistant or relevant overseas physiotherapy qualification
  • Available for flexible hours as required
  • Ability to provide high quality outcome-focused intervention aimed to achieve set goals as directed by the allied Health professional
  • A strong work ethic and demonstrated ability to take initiative and work as part of a multidisciplinary team
  • Flexibility in managing a varied caseload and implementing group and individual programs
  • Well-developed communication and time management skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours/days over weekdays and/or weekends
  • Ability to cover both clinical, non-clinical and administration role
  • Working towards a Masters or bachelor’s degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy (desirable)
