Are you a motivated and innovative Exercise Physiologist? An exciting opportunity has opened up for a full time Exercise Physiologist to join the Allied Health Team at The Hills Private Hospital. The Hills Private Hospital offers Hydrotherapy services with a purpose-built hydrotherapy pool. Applicants must be flexible, team oriented and be prepared to hit the ground running.

 About the Role:

Our multidisciplinary team is seeking a motivated Exercise Physiologist or Physiotherapist with experience in hospital rehabilitation programs to join our team. Expect to work within an environment whereby you will feel appreciated, recognised and supported by management. 

About us
The Hills Private Hospital is an 86-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital, with an additional 25 inpatient mental health beds and an expanding Day Rehabilitation Service. We currently offer orthopaedic, neurological and reconditioning rehabilitation programs. 

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Actively participate in a coordinated team approach to patient care to develop, review and evaluate individual and group rehabilitation plans

  • Participate in multidisciplinary case conferences and reviews

  • Maintain direct patient workload at 85% of total time

  • Ability to apply exercise physiology theory into practical applications

  • Participate in discharge planning and establishment of patient goals

  • Ensure patient/family understand plan objectives and methodologies to achieve success

  • Document plans, assessments, reviews, discharge assessment and referrals in the patient’s medical record

  • Identify, implement and evaluate hospital-wide, departmental and ward clinical allied health programs to support patient recovery to optimal health

  • Identify opportunities for clinical improvement of service/programs

  • Coordinate the gathering and submission of relevant professional data

  • Provide high quality assessment and treatment services to patients

  • Ensure allied health participation in team meetings, family meetings etc. 

Essential Criteria:

  • Degree in Human Movement, Exercise Science or equivalent

  • Graduate Diploma or Masters in Exercise Rehabilitation

  • Membership of the Exercise and Sport Science Australia (ESSA)

  • Current Registration with AHPRA

  • Working With Children Check

  • Commitment to Quality Patient Care

  • Compliance with ACQSHC National standards

  • Previous experience in rehabilitation or hospital setting

  • Hydrotherapy experience (must be able to swim and conduct hydro sessions)

  • Sound clinical judgement and clinical reasoning skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication

  • Experience working as part of a multidisciplinary team

  • Superior time management and organisational skills

  • Exceptional customer service skills

  • Current driver’s license is desirable
