Melbourne Private Hospital is looking for a dynamic individual to join our Hospital’s Administration team full time. This position will see you working in bookings and pre-admissions. The successful applicant will be highly motivated, have previous experience in medical administration, committed to a high standard of customer focused care, excellent time management and organisational skills. This is an opportunity for someone who thrives in vibrant and collaborative environment. This role will see you supporting the front office Manager and team.


About us

Melbourne Private Hospital is a fully accredited tertiary facility with 122 beds, providing intensive care and cardiac services.  The hospital has 4 theatres and 2 cath labs, which offer a board range of specialities including cardiac, neurosurgery, robotics, plastics, orthopaedics, urology, laparoscopic, colorectal, vascular and general surgery as well as neurosurgery.  Specialised wards include 1 cardiac, 1 neurosurgery/vascular/orthopaedic wards, as well as a general ward.  Melbourne Private Hospital also has a day procedure and chemotherapy ward.

As an Administration Officer your responsibilities will include:

  • Patient Billing and Receipting/Medicare rebate
  • Maintain accurate records
  • Coordinate with Doctors and staff from different departments
  • Patient admission and discharges
  • Manage a busy reception desk
  • Coordinate with staff from other departments
  • Complete other clerical tasks such as data entry

Essential Criteria:

  • Medical administration or medical reception experience essential
  • Authority to Work in Australia
  • Experience with Medical Software i.e. WebPAS.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills     
  • Highly developed organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Experience in MS Office (Outlook, Word, and Excel)
