Associate Nurse Unit Managers - various opportunities available
Exciting opportunities exist for highly motivated and suitably qualified individuals to join our management team. These key roles involve ensuring the provision of high levels of patient care for our clinical units and effective operational management of The Geelong Clinic. A variety of days, including afternoon and nightshift options are available for the right candidates.
As a senior nurse you will support the nursing team with planning, assessment, implementation and evaluation of excellent standards of evidence-based care and provide leadership, supervision and mentorship for staff and students.
The Geelong Clinic is a 73 bed Psychiatric Hospital offering a range of inpatient, day programs and outreach services for individuals experiencing mental health problems. Located on the outskirts of Geelong within close proximity to spectacular coastal attractions, the clinic has a number of accredited Psychiatrists supported by a skilled multidisciplinary team of nursing, allied health, administration and domestic services staff. Onsite parking available.
Position Responsibilities
The position is responsible for providing clinical leadership to the ward/unit to compliment the strategic direction, operational processes and quality management of all patients.
You will provide clinical operational direction for the unit to ensure efficient and effective management by coordinating the delivery of nursing care that is evidence based.
With the assistance and direction of the Nurse Unit Manager, you will be accountable and responsible for the effective daily management of human, financial and material resources.
Selection Criteria
· Registered Nurse with psychiatric nursing qualifications and recent psychiatric nursing experience
· Minimum three years’ clinical experience in Mental Health
· Well-developed leadership and management skills
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to plan and prioritize to meet the operational and strategic goals of the hospital
· Grade 2, Year 2 or above
· Exemplary interpersonal and communication skills
· Positive role modelling behaviours
· Excellent customer service focus, time management and prioritisation
· Ability to manage a dynamic and changing environment
· High degree of computer literacy including MS office and various data bases
· Current AHPRA registration
· Working with Children Check
· Post graduate qualification in health management or working towards same advantageous

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and VIC/ANMF – VIC nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise agreement 2021-2025.
