The Role
The Clinical Nurse Specialist position in our Day Infusion Unit is an exciting and rare opportunity to join our established team. This role is integral to the success and growth of oncology services at Norwest Private Hospital. You will be focused on patient centred care, have strong mentoring and staff development skills, be driven for results, effective in VMO engagement and pivotal to daily organisation of ward patient flow.
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Adhering to National standards and Hospital policy and procedure
- Providing evidenced based nursing care
- Providing clinical expertise and depth to the Oncology team
- Liaising with the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensuring patient and staff safety
- Ensuring e-learning and Mandatory training is completed on a regular basis
The Department
The Day Infusion Unit is a private cancer service located in Norwest Private Hospital. The centre provides day therapy, chemotherapy and intravenous infusions for patients with cancer and other chronic disease and disorders. The centre has a dedicated focus in the provision of high quality clinical care and caring for our patients, which is often a difficult time in their lives.
What you'll need to succeed
Essential qualities:
· Registered Nurse with current AHPRA registration
· Post graduate qualification in Oncology or working towards
· Proven commitment to clinical nursing and ongoing learning and development
· Advanced communication skills as part of a multi-disciplinary team with a willingness to learn new skills
· Well- developed problem solving and critical thinking skills
· Demonstrated professional manner when working with complex situations
