Norwest Private Hospital is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join our Day Surgery team on a full-time, part-time and casual basis. You will play a key role within a supportive team in ensuring high levels of patient care is provided.

Our Department
Our complex has 19 theatres (including Endoscopy), 32 first stage recovery bays as well as an additional 32 second stage chairs & 16 pre-operative beds in the day surgery unit.
Our specialties include General (including laparoscopic), Colorectal, Bariatric, Orthopaedic, Cardiothoracic, ENT, Plastics, Paediatric, Oral & Dental, Gynaecology & Obstetrics, Ophthalmic, Gastroenterology, Neurosurgery, Urology, Angiography and Vascular surgery
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Deliver evidence based nursing care and patient centred care
- Liaise with the multi-disciplinary team
- Ensure patient and staff safety
- Supervise, direct and guide nursing team members; Enrolled Nurses (ENs) to deliver patient care
- Deliver education and support to individuals/patients for the management of their health requirements
Essential Criteria:
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year acute DSU/surgical care experience (Cardiac experience highly regarded)
- Authority to Work in Australia
- Working with Children check (if relevant)
- Bachelor of Science (Nursing) or equivalent
- Previous experience in a Day Surgery Unit or a surgical ward setting
- Compliance with ACQSHC National standards
- Demonstrate the ability to show initiative and work within a team environment
- Excellent communication skills
- Passion for patient centred care

If you are successful in the role, you will receive a salary based on your years of relevant registered nursing experience against the current Healthscope and NSWNMA/ANMF – NSW Nurses and Midwives’ – Enterprise Agreement 2020 – 2024, a salary ranging from $35.46 - $49.79 per hour.
